For any of you web site makers, check out this nice little Javascript above that hides your actual email address in the code. I just discovered it.....
This is a fuzzy but adequate pic of my cone plaque. At the left is how the plain cone sitting on the table at the angle that Orton has built into the cone base.
There's only one way for it to lean: the plain face leans towards the direction it will curve when melting, with the # marks on the left if you are looking at the cone from the back facing away from you. I've had apprentices come to me with all sorts of odd ideas about cone placement from previous studios.. But this one makes the most sense since you are seeing the most accurate view of the cone as it melts: driectly fron the side. Any other way would reduce your ability to see the cone's bend.
