Using the Ram Fountain Glazer and Vacuum Hand
The fountain glazer makes a fountain of glaze using a foot pedal to create the pressure. The vacuum hand is a suction device using a vacuum pump. I use the same vacuum pump that came with my pug mill. A thumb lever in the handle makes and breaks the suction. When the glaze is the same inside and out, there is no need for waxing. I do brushwork on many of my pots, so an even glaze coat is essential. This tool makes my life MUCH easier!

5. Letting glaze drip off. I do have vases that I glaze with 2 colors inside and out. I still use this system for the inside glazing since it produces an even inside coat. But I do have to wax before dipping the outside of the vase in the 2nd glaze.
6. Setting vase on rack made of wood slats set at a distance a little bigger than the vacuum hand head. I let go of the thumb lever on the vacuum hand to let go of the vase. I have about 12 feet of this slat system so I can glaze multiple pieces in a short time.
